Default Does your Spouse drive The RV?

I was just wondering how many of you let your wife drive your coaches out there. Whether it is a 40' DP or a 28' gasser. Is it because your wife don't want to drive or you dont want her to drive? When we go on long trips especially which require 300 + miles per day of driving, I do all the driving.

Not only do I let and require my wife to drive our 40' DP 100s of miles at a time. I started letting my wife drive our RV and it came in real handy one time for the very reason I taught her. I injured myself and she had to drive all the way home. She has no problems driving the big RV, It sure takes the load off when you need even a short break for what ever. If any of you get injured or become ill and your still out on the road, it's nice to have your partner take over for a while to at least get you to a camp ground or hospital. If you've been thinking about teaching them, just get them to a big parking lot like a school or mall and start out there and then move them out to the open road.

I fully agree, everyone should be able to drive the coach. The better half here will only drive on the freeway. She gets to nervous to drive in town or at least that is her excuess  I know for fact that if she had to drive in town she could. But she will never admit it, cause then she would have to share more of the driving  .

Happy RV’ing everyone… Spring is HERE :!:

My wife won't drive our Class "A". She did however drive the Class C we had in the past.

The wife has driven both Class C's. She has not driven the Adventurer, other than to move it when parking. I am sure she can drive it though. She is a much better driver than me.

My wife drives our Rv almost more then I do. Sometimes I have to drag her out of the drivers seat because I want to drive, that is how much she loves driving the motorhome.

A much safer way to go, both in terms of dividing up the road fatigue and in terms of driving skills. One gets road fatigue no matter how much you love driving.

Currently my wife does most of the driving in our daily driver vehicles and I am the only one that drives the coach. I would love to have her drive the beast, but she's not ready yet. She used to drive our class "c" and did fine. It's just some kind of fear that she needs to overcome. Hopefully.

Well we dont own a Class A but the wife does Tow the 5er with no problems. We actually trade off driving which I like very much.

My wife can drive any motorhome that I can. I think most wives can handle it. It's usually just fear for most, but once they try it a couple times they may want to take over.
