Default Awning

I went camping this past week end and messed up. There was a threat of rain, and I did not angle my awning.
Needless to say, I had a lot of water on it in the morning. It did not rip or pull away from the trailer. What it did do though is bend the tube the awning rolls up on.
Is it possible to straighten it out?

I brought my trailer to the dealer. They said they have not had any luck in the past trying to straightening the awning tubes.

I can use it as is, but it kind of flops. I will more than likely use it as it is until I have to replace it.

broncobill you can save your awing tube. Here is a link that will show you where to purchase the product and how to repair it. It is cheaper than replacing the entire awing. The first link shows the how to and the second goes to the ordering site. Hope this helps this item also says it will make it stronger.

Thanks. That will be something I will look into. I don't know yet how I would do it. My awning tube is not bent in half. It has about 12" bow in the middle.

When the dealer told me they have not had any luck straightening them, they had not looked at mine yet. I'm hoping they can straighten it some. Even a little would help.

Even if they can straighten it, that MX57 may find it's way in my awning tube any way just for the extra strength. My awning is 21 or 22 foot long.

Believe it or not, my awning is covered by insurance. All I have to pay is $100.

Man you can't beat that sounds like a brand new awning coming to you. I would keep my old one if they will let you that is if you have a place to keep it.

I talked to them briefly yesterday. It sounds like they are going to get a brand new tube and awning canvas, or what ever it's made out of. Then put the hard ware from my old awning in it. The mechanism and arms are fine. I just bought the trailer April 2009.

On the same trip, once I had my trailer hooked to the back of my Expedition, I was cranking up the tongue jack, heard a pop, and jack tube fell to the ground. I also lost an external speaker cover on the way home. They replaced that and the jack, no charge. The jack was warranty I'm sure.

Muskegon RV has been very good to me. sales and service is top notch.
